I so nearly got to take my windsurf board out for the first time on Sunday. Alas, not enough wind. And what wind there was came from the wrong direction. Next Sunday is looking a little better.

I've become addicted to a new website/ information source. Windguru provides up the minute information on wind speed and direction, water conditions and temperature for sailors, windsurfers and kitesurfers. Unfortunately the site has one major flaw. No RSS. Grrr. It feels so archaic to have to keep visiting a webpage to simply get an update.

I’ve done it. I managed to get completely kitted out with a bunch of battered secong hand gear - a beaten up F2 Discovery board, a pretty decent sail, a slightly mangy boom and new but cheap mast for a mere £250. Not bad methinks. Just hope the weather gets it together for Sunday.

I think I've found the board I'm going to buy second hand from the local windsurfing shop. In the absence of an affordable Starboard an old, battered F2 Discovery seems perfect for me. I can't wait.
